The Tirreno Adriatico is known as the ‘Race of the Two Seas’ since it stretches from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic sea. Now seen as a warm-up event for the Giro d’Italia, the cycling stage race traces its history all the way back to 1966, when local hero Dino Zandegu captured the title.

In defending champion Jonas Vingegaard’s absence, last year’s runner-up Juan Ayuso will be one of the favorites for the title.

The race will open with a seven-mile flat stage circling the Lido di Camaiore on Monday. The final stage, which is a 91.34-mile race along the Italian coastline, will take place on Sunday, March 16, with the finish line in San Benedetto del Tronto.
